Gluten Free Bread
Basic White Dough - For rolls, breadsticks, plaits, pizza bases ect….
Serves 4
Vegetarian
Cooking 15 minutes or until golden

16 oz (425g) of gluten free white flour

4 oz (125g)of gluten free brown flour
-
10 fluid oz (300ml) of warm water

2 oz (50g)margarine
-
6 pinches of salt
-
2-heaped tsp of sugar

Preheat oven to Gas mark 7, 220°C or 425°F.

Put the flour, yeast, salt and sugar into a bowl, mix well.

Add the margarine, rub in with fingers.

Pour in the warm water and mix/knead to a sticky dough. If it turns out too stiff add another tablespoon of warm water.

Take out of bowl as soon as it makes one ball and knead on a cool worktop. You should have a smooth and shiny dough after a couple of minutes kneading.

Shape as needed with out using any extra flour. Leave in a warm place to rise.

Place on the top shelf of the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden.

Take items off trays as soon as they are are out of the oven. Cool on wire rack.
